How to run Windows Applications easily under Ubuntu Linux. Yes!
October 20th, 2007And have a really good feeling that I removed my Windows XP Partition:
In case - whatever it will be - I really need to run a Windows Application under Ubuntu Linux, I launch Virtualbox and it works. Damn
Finally, Here is a step by step tutorial how to run Windows under Ubuntu Linux by using Virtualbox
Ubuntu Linux Virtualbox Tutorial:
sudo apt-get install virtualbox- Download and install Virtualbox- Launch Virtualbox (Applications -> System Tools -> VirtualBox) and create a new Virtual System by clicking on the Add Icon
- Insert your Windows CD and install the Virtual System from CD just as if you’re setting up a new computer. Remember the Serial Number starts with FCKW-xxxx…
- Launch your Windows XP System inside Ubuntu Linux and do whatever you want. This is the most crass comparison between Linux and Windows, and - hell yes - you will see why Ubuntu Linux is the superior one!
Here is a Picture of me running Windows on Ubuntu Linux, and I really hope you liked my short Howto / Tutorial on this Topic!

is all the apps including audia and video apps will run and will they all run on the size of the window that is shown in the screenshot.
2. is the window virtual or we have to install whole of window inside linux because we don’t need all window services as we have linux as our base os.

Hi
XP SP3 upgrade crashed me. I dont have my XP disc and my paid for prod key doesnt work on borrowed disc. In protest , I am moving to Ubuntu . But I have huge numbers of Windows app ( Financial Trading apps) to run. In ur approach , can I just leave a unactivated Windows XP installation using a random prod key , and just use my apps when i need to. ?
Will that be illegal? IN other words I am not running Windows XP , but only Windows apps.
